Mission Fundraisers

WMPC is a family of giving.  Here you can keep up with, and help out with, our regular fundraising events as well as our special fundraisers for our missions both local and international.

Local Fundraising Activities

Pennies for Hunger:  a monthly collection taken during worship service on the first Sunday of each month

Community Crisis:  a monthly collection taken during worship service on the last Sunday of each month

Souper Bowl of Caring:  an annual collection of canned goods taken during worship service on Super Bowl Sunday that is given to the West Johnston High School Food Pantry

Backpack Buddies: a monthly collection of items for underprivileged school children in the local community taken up by our Presbyterian Women; click here for more information

West Johnston High School Food Pantry:  WJHS students give back to the community with a food pantry for those without access to good foodstuffs.  Not only do we donate the food we can buy at the grocery store, we also are growing fresh produce for their needs.  Click here to learn more about the pantry, and click here for more about our community gardening program.

International Missions

Yahvre-Jire Children’s Foundation: starting in 2017, WMPC has been excited to work with other churches in the US in support of this small orphanage in Croix-de-Bouquets Haiti.  We work year round to put together a team of missionaries who travel to the orphanage in the summer to put boots on the ground in helping in any way the children of Haiti might need us, from building gardens and living quarters to feeding the community and providing hope to those who would not have had a chance to live.

Presbyterian USA Missions:  WMPC supports many of the missions which come down from Presbyterian USA, including World Communion Sunday and Pentecost special offerings.  Click here to visit their website for details on the service works we support. Click here to see our support in action.
